7 Advantages of Being Bilingual in a Workplace

Hiyaaa guys, back again with me in the footie fic hub. Today I’m not going to talk about anything related to football, I will talk about what are the advantages of being bilingual.

First of all, what do you guys know about bilingualism? Try to type it out in the comment section ya!!

So, the definition of bilingualism is a speaker’s ability to use two languages fluently to communicate on a daily basis, not just knowing several parts but really speak those languages effectively whether it’s reading, writing, speaking, moreover the grammatical sentences and all. Bilingualism has become such an important role without us realizing it. I said so because now we live in a globalized world where borders are increasingly blurred by digital technology and connectivity, it means the world is changing. We can reach out to anywhere we want either domestically or overseas for any kind of need for example holiday, work or jobs, study, live, entertainment, many more.

As far as I know, nowadays many professional fields also want someone who is bilingual to fulfill the job position in their company. This can be such a big opportunity for the bilinguals to start their careers. One study from Workforce web declares there’s only about 20% of people in the US that speak a second language. It means if we are able to speak more than one language, we automatically put ourselves ahead of the 80% of people in the US who don’t speak a second language. That also means we are one step ahead of them in terms of work seeking.

For your information, being bilingual is not always about English, it can be another language which also really has prospective use in work fields these days. For example, Chinese or Mandarin, Japanese, French, German, Italian, and much more. The people who can speak those languages have a big leg up in the professional world. If you are bilingual I will tell you about many kinds of jobs you can try to look up such as education, tour guide, journalism, construction, criminal justice, marketing, management, IT, healthcare, emergency services, see there are many chances for the bilinguals in the professional workplace. So, if you are not bilingual then try to seek at least one language other than your mother tongue to learn because it can be your plus value.

For me, I choose English as my second language because of one simple reason, it's an international language that many people speak in this world. Another reason is just because I fell in love with English since I was in elementary school. Well I haven’t really mastered it yet sometimes I need time to construct my sentences and often forgetting various vocabulary that I have ever learned before, but I’m sure as long as we practice hard and not just materially but also doing it I mean try to speak in that language we can be more fluent and natural with it. It’s just all a matter of time. This is also the reason why I created this blog to help me develop my English skill so that I would not forget how to use English properly.

Back to the topic, here are some of my opinions of the advantages of being bilingual in a workplace . There are 7 advantages, they are:
